Nancy O'Dell's initial work in the industry of broadcast was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was a morning reporter and anchor at WCBD TV. Her articles from Charleston on how Charleston police handled DUI cases with leniency resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell was awarded an award for the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. After her time at Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative journalist. After that, she became a part of Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. In addition, she serves as an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today.
